After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, the proposal for DrupalConParis 2009 was cleared to be submitted to the Drupal Association.
It’s been a very interesting ride, starting from scratch and putting together a proposal for a conference that must not only satisfy but rock 1000+ of you Drupal folks out there.
Orange and the R&D department at faberNovel have just launched Urban Mobs, a showcase in advanced data visualization.
Urban Mobs is used to analyze citywide mobile phone activity and create stunning traffic pattern visualizations. Their site currently shows a series of time-lapse visualizations based on cell tower data gathered in France, Spain, Poland and Romania.
5 tracks, 25 sessions, 50+ attendees and it’s not even noon.
Some stuff on the board: Drupal case studies, Drupal+mobile, writing simpletests, data portability, improving performance, Drupal crash course and strategy: identifying needs.
The Paris Drupal meetup yesterday was a hit again, with twice the expected number of people showing up. Even a couple of tourists like Bonnie Bogle, Eric Gundersen and Kevin Walsh dropped by.
No such thing as a ‘local community’ anymore. Interesting.
It’s interesting to see the French/Parisian Drupal scene grow and organize itself so rapidly. If you’re in the neighborhood, come by and help us help the Drupal community.
